Introduction
Hi,
My name is Angie. I’ve been in the mental health field since 2013 working directly with clients, helping to develop programs, and teaching students in the field.
During my career, I’ve worked in areas including trauma, addiction, and within diverse populations from doctors and lawyers to chronically homeless people. I’ve also worked with my own therapist for years. As I’ve always said to my clients, “sick people don’t get help, healthy people do.” So here I am - working on staying healthy, and hoping to help others do the same.
I think 2020 has been a difficulty year for all of us, in ways both unique to us and collective struggles. We are all living thorough a pandemic that requires us to stay home and socially distance, which can leave us feeling quite isolated and alone. With everything happening in the world today, I believe what we need most is deep, authentic, intimate connection.
I’m a firm believer that vulnerability is the key ingredient to connection so that is what my blog will be about. My experiences and my vulnerability shared with the intent to help you feel connected and teach you a bit about what it looks like to become a healthy person, who gets help!
Stay Connected,
Angie
